Why

As a kid, I always loved making things, from Airfix kits to Lego drinks machines. Some projects were more successful than others!

It was my introduction to Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer that really opened my mind to creating worlds, characters and adventures. Ever since, tabletop gaming and roleplay games have been part of my life.

I’ve decided to start FooteWorks to share my projects; the thinking and research that goes into them, and hopefully inspire others to make the crazy ideas inside their heads too.

Realms at War

I’ve been lucky to be part of the team that builds and hosts the 2 day Age of Sigmar narrative event - Realms at War. We all love to make immersive games, starting with lots of game background and setup, through to our army builds and scenery setups, so making RAW was always going to be fun. Each year we focus on one element of the AoS world; heroes, monsters or aether magic, which players get to adventure and improve over the weekend. Checkout the hashtags below for some of the event coverage and some of the stunning projects and stories our players share and bring to RAW to make the event so special.

Ashes of the Imperium Podcast

As co-host on this Warhammer 40k podcast, alongside nice guy Dan, we get to enjoy exploring all the new evolving narrative and the deep background of this grim dark, sci-fi universe. Our mix of knowledge and areas of interest, narrative for me and more matched for Dan, offers listeners two sides of the game. We reviews new books and models, talk through personal hobby projects and do interviews with a variety of folks from event winners to an amazing show about how getting back into 40k helped one player with his mental health issues.

Narrative night at Oxford Gaming Club

IMG_4514.jpg

At our local gaming club in Oxford I founded a monthly narrative night for Age of Sigmar. Starting as slow grow skirmish armies, we use fun tables and multi-player games to share the sense of the world and how the units play. We now regularly play 500pts games of full AoS rules and many in the club now play in a matched play league at 2000pts.
